Roses in Magick

Posted by spiritedenterprise on June 4, 2013 at 11:25 AM

In new age magick, roses are a common ingredient used in rituals pertaining to love and relationships.

In ancient times, however, Roses were used for protection and psychic endeavors.

Rubbing rose extract or rose essential oil on your temples gives clarity during times of stress and reduces over-thinking.

Rubbing rose extract or EO on your forehead promotes telepathy and balances out your personal energy vibrations.

Powdered rose petals make for a very protective and powerful ingredient. It's important when using powdered rose petals that you do the process yourself. Simply hang your roses upside down and allow them to dry out completely. Once dry, pick the petals and powder them with your motar and pestle. Any excess should be stored in a glass jar, out of direct sunlight. Amber or Cobalt colored jars work best.

Sprinkle rose powder on ritual tools and the ingredients used in your spellwork to not only protect yourself during the process but also to boose the effects those items have during your ritual.

Smudging your forehead before psychic and magickal endeavors provides protection against emotional, mental and psychic attack.
