How to Water Scry

You will need a large, deep glass, brass, or silver bowl. It must have a smooth and even rim.

You will need to do your own testing to find out which bowl works best for you and how much water you should use.

Tap water should never be used for scrying! Get clean, fresh water from a stream, lake, river, or even collected rain water.

Water should be collected during late evening or night time hours. Full moon water works best for those of you who have trouble connecting with the element of water.

The water may be stored in a covered vessel and used again. It should be stored in a cool area where sunlight doesn’t reach.

However it is a good idea to replace your water once a month.

Next, make a wand using a branch from a Bay, Hazel or Laurel Tree. Strip the bark and sand until smooth. Take the tip of the wand and coat it in tree sap.

Once your wand is complete and you’ve found your bowl and collected the water, you can begin scrying.

The best time of the day to scry is during evening hours when all is quiet. I like to create ambiance by lighting candles and working in low, but sustainable light.

Dip the end of the wand into the water until it becomes wet. Wet the rims of the bowl.

By gently drawing the rim of the wand around the bowl it will cause it to resonate.

The action of the resonating basin will cause circular ripples to form in the basin. The water seems to breathe with the sounds.

It is the harmonics that seem to whisper forth predictions of the future.

These harmonics are then interpreted either by yourself, or with the help of spirits, guardians, or spirit guides.

Interpretations vary. Some people clearly hear words and/or voices among the harmonics produced. Some people say that high sounds indicate “yes” answers and low pitched sounds as “no” answers to questions asked out loud.
