* Where Magick Happens *

Everything is Energy

Energy is constant. It can neither be created, nor destroyed. It can only change in form. True magic is a form of natural science that works with energies or elements, comprehending then manipulating them.

“All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration and that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There’s no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and you are the imagination of yourself”

-Bill Hicks

Everything, matter, is comprised of protons, neutrons, and electrons. These elements of matter make up quarks. In the most basic scientific meaning, quarks are best described as “vibration waves”. We as practitioners use magic to send out a vibrational signal into the heart of the universe in order to attract or repel energy depending on our needs, will, and desire.

Even people who are not practioners of magic do this on a daily basis.

For instance:

Verbal- “Can you get me a glass of tea, please?”

Written- Lists left for loved ones around the house, or even articles like this one.

Non-verbal- General “looks” Such as the “evil eye” from someone who does not like you, or that tested stare of a frustrated parent that stops a child in their tracks.

All of these examples have been used since the dawning of time throughout history to create a response.

When we cast a spell we are looking to give or receive a desired response.

In both cases a magic spell is designed to send out a specific vibration that will result in the final required effect. By utilizing tools with similar or complementary vibration (such as specific types of wooden or stone wands or designated herbs) we in turn produce a specific signal to the universe.

In example:

If we went for a court appearance we would wear respectful clothes, be freshly bathed, groomed and shaven, and adopt the necessary demeanor for the desired results.

In magic the most common tools used are herbs, crystals, ritual, the invocation or evocation of deities, incense, oils, and colored candles.

I am sure some of you are wondering how we know these items and methods work? This is only through thousands of years of experimentation with both successes and errors then documenting the successes and warnings of each, story telling, general record keeping. This information we hold and find through study has been passed from generation to generation. The simple truth is that if certain tools and methods did not work for the desired outcome, then their use was not remembered for that purpose. This brings us to what is referred to as correspondences. In this day and time

correspondences are now available in mass published books, some treasured obscure texts, and even on the internet.

Once the appropriate tools have been acquired, they then need to be used in a way that harnesses the personal power of the spell caster through Will and Intent.

For this reason, it is important to keep records of your magical workings for future generations whether it is saving it to disk, writing it in a journal, or beginning and maintaining a book of shadows. You will find in your notes over time that this is helpful for future reference when creating your own written spells for specific needs. This practice also helps you to refine your technique in the future.

In closing, it is also important to remember the Law of Attraction.

In Example:

Like attracts Like- Any energy that you send out will eventually return to you, so think carefully as to whether you are justified in your actions when you send out a destructive signal during spell workings. Do not let your emotions get in the way of clear thinking. Sometimes you have to remove yourself from a situation in order to think clearly.

T.S. Elliot put it perfectly when he said “Do I dare disturb the universe?”

Before you choose to undertake any magical act, ask yourself that specific question. If you are unsure, then go back to the books, discuss the options with friends, forum, elders, or coven members. Be aware of your personal energy and intuition. When the time is right, send your message, and let the universe receive and respond.
