Necromancy - What it isn't

Posted by spiritedenterprise on April 21, 2013 at 1:15 PM

Necromancy is not a religion. It is simply a practice. One can be of any faith to practice as death touches all faiths and all walks of life.

Necromancy is not black magick. Magick has no color. It is the intent of the caster that dictates whether or not magick is good, bad or in between.

Necromancy is not necrophilia! A necromancer has no sexual ties no desires for the dead.

I can guarantee that most of what you’ve read about necromancy in books is so steeped with ignorance, intolerance and fear that it’s completely and utterly inaccurate.

A necromancer does not use control or domination of any kind in working with the deceased.

There is no desecration of the deceased involved.

A necromancer simply attunes themselves with the death energy that is present within spirits in order to gain balance, understanding, acceptance and even knowledge.

Necromancy is not always divination sometimes it is merely a connection with death - some people just feel closer to the dead than they do the living.

Necromancy cannot be practiced by everyone. Having a connection with the dead is a gift, or a curse, depending on how the person sees it.

A necromancer is not a conjurer. Although summonings can be used to gain a connection with a particular deceased individual, conjuration is not part of this practice.
