Supplies

Muslin bag - I like to use the 4 by 6 inch bags because they will hold a lot of ingredients

Sage

Ginger

Red Clover

Orange Peel

Lemon Peel

I use one teaspoon of sage, ginger and red clover and a tablespoon of each of the orange and lemon peel.

I also add a few drops of orange and lemon essential oils. This isnt necessary, so it's optional. If you decide to use the essential oils, its important that they are 100% essential oils and not blends or frangrance oils as you want your baths to be as natural as possible.

You can mix your ingredients in a bowl and add to the bag or you can add them all right to the bag and shake to blend.

I like to take a quick shower first - wash my hair, shave my legs, etc so that when you do take your ritual bath, you're clean and ready to allow the ingredients of the bath to really take a good hold on you. AND, if you use the essential oils, you smell wonderful when you get out!!

Add the bag to your bath water and allow to steep for 5 to 10 minutes before you get in. It's important that you dont wash your hair or use any kind of unnatural things while you're bathing so thats why I take a shower first. Just soak and allow the ritual bath to take hold  for 15 to 30 minutes.

Ritual baths work best when done repeatedly. If I were to "prescribe" this bath to someone, I would tell them to prepare 9 baths and use one every Friday for 9 weeks.

If you prepare all 9 baths at the same time, you can store them in the freezer until you're ready to use them.
